RHS Online Event Calendar Policy
For the protection of the Red Hat Society and its members, the following policies have been established:
- Chapters posting events on the Red Hat Society web site must abide by all chapter guidelines and terms of membership.
- The event must be properly listed and marketed as an event sponsored by a chapter of the Red Hat Society in good standing** and cannot be represented as an event which could be construed to be a Red Hat Society event (e.g. an international, national, state or regional event sponsored by Hatquarters—such events are promoted on the Red Hat Society Home Page and related links).
- Events must not be for personal profit—they can raise money to cover the costs of chapter events.
- The event sponsor(s) must not own, be affiliated with, or work as agents for a travel agency, tour company or event planning company.
- The event must not substantially conflict with an event planned by the Red Hat Society.
- Event sponsors must not represent themselves to others as the Red Hat Society but rather as a chapter of the Red Hat Society.
- Event sponsors must agree to the terms of service governing the use of the Red Hat Society Online Event Calendar.
It is the goal of the Red Hat Society to post as many events as possible to facilitate the ability of members
to celebrate opportunities for fun and friendship everywhere. We hope that by screening each posting
we will facilitate the communication of more accurate and complete information to our members interested in
attending legitimate chapter-sponsored events. If a chapter is found to be in violation of any of the policies
or terms and conditions governing the Red Hat Society Online Event Calendar and its use, the Red Hat Society
reserves the right to delete the posting.
