I have had more fun and laugher in the last ten years as a Member of RHS than I have had in my whole life put together.

Since I still work and have many other obligations, being a Ruby Rambler allows me to join in the RH fun without the guilt of not having enough time to devote to a chapter, being a member of the Ruby Ramblers allows me to be a Red hatter, and visit any chapter and enjoy the fellowship of my sisters without having to belong to any one chapter.

The Red Hat Society is an unstoppable force. It will never reach an immovable object as long as we, its members, continue to believe in its tenets. As long as it remains such a large part of our lives, it will continue to grow. Its message of fun and friendship over fifty carries more than just what the words imply. Its message also carries hope for life after children and jobs, and it carries an ...implicit promise of fulfillment for all its members. Being a member of this Society is not a right, but a privilege, and carries with it obligations. Those obligations are, in my opinion, kindness, compassion, tolerance and acceptance.

I promise to continue to fulfill my obligations to the best of my ability and for as long as I am able.

A viral Facebook post that
began popping up continuously beginning 2/8/2012. The RHS wishes to thank all who continue to ensure our Legacy lives on for generations to come.

Just finished browsing the Fall 2011 issue. I was excited, not because my dear friend and Hatter of the Year was on the cover, but because every page I turned presented me with ideas, memories, pictures of old friends, etc. Not a dull moment and something on every page for everybody. Where else can you look at a magazine where every page is about you?...Thanks for the entertainment, education and tips. Have an interesting hat day.

Oh yeah, much thanks and continuous appreciation to Elaine or helping me get my chapter registered.

I do a lot of traveling....and I have to say this is one trip that I will never forget.

This is the first time that I have attended the London Parade event with the Red Hat Society. I had been to London a year ago...but this was soooo special....meeting the Lord Mayor of Westminister; seeing the Crown Jewels (I still want to know how often they clean them); I booked on my own to see "Mama Mia" on the afternoon of New Year's eve and I was up clapping, laughing just like everyone else in the audience; watching the fireworks come out of Big Ben at midnight and then the riverbanks of the Thames came to life with the fireworks that lasted over 11 minutes; walking in the London New Year's Parade and talking to people who were observing as well as those who were coordinating the parade...they wanted to know who we are and thanked us for coming the distance to be in the parade; Shakespeare Wot - I've never laughed so hard and now have a better understanding of Shakespeare; Wicked....this play was more than I thought it would be....and people were asking why we were wearing RED HATS!!!; the last day going to Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick Castle....so much history; and finally meeting the Councillors, I couldn't believe they took the time to meet and dine with us!!!

It seemed like we had just arrived and then we were leaving!!!

I wish every Red Hatter would attend this event....it represented what I feel Red Hats is all about....being happy and enjoying other Red Hatters!!!

Unfortunately, I had already booked another event for this coming New Year's. I hope we are invited back in future years so I can attend.

The old year will soon be history, but you will forever be in the minds of we Northeners from your visit this past fall.

We hope to see you again as time allows.

Keep up the good work and tell the people at Hatquarters that their hard work is appreciated more than they know. They have changed our lives and changed the concept of growing older to a life with fun, joy, happiness and pride. We are not ready for our wheelchairs or rocking chairs yet... thanks to the Red Hat Society.

I love being a Ruby Redhat's Rambler as that is all the time I have at present. Maybe a local chapter later. I have attended 2 conventions and will be attending Las Vegas in June, it works for me.

Being a Red Hatter has changed my life in SO many ways!! The friends that I have met around the world are all great ladies!!! It is hard to explain how much love and support there is among the ranks of my Red Hat Sisterhood!!!! I will never feel lonely again!!!!

The ideas that I got from the quarterly Hatters Matters are just one more benefit of the $20 supporting membership fee that is received by all. Thanks again and have a Hatting kinda' day!

If anyone asked me, today, "What is the Red Hat Society?", my answer would be, "Sisterhood! Fellowship! Fun! Fabulous after Fifty! Fine Dining! Kodak Moments! & most of all Frivolous Frolicking!

Avalon

The Red Hat Society has been and continues to be one great adventure and doors keep opening up all the time because of it. I have met so many new friends, shared experiences with them that I otherwise would not have. The organization is a great social network and I am so happy to be a part of it.

Shelly

Oh, sure, my sister chapter members and I tease each other, sometimes mercilessly, but we love each other! We love to spend time together, just chatting, lunching, crafting, and myriad other things. None of us expects anything from each other but love and acceptance. Isn't this exactly why we all joined the RHS in the first place? I know it's why I did, and it's why my baby sister did. And you know what else? It's exactly what we found here, and what we continue to find each and every day.

Louise

Every day, in every way, Red Hatting makes my life better. I get to share life and love with wonderful women. How much better can life possibly be? I cannot think of any possible way I could improve my life. Without Red Hatting, life would be bland and boring. With Red Hatting, life is a panoply of colors and joy.

Louise

I've been a Red Hatter for 6 years and am enjoying each chapter immensely!!! I'm 79 and feel I have the best friends ever! My joy is sponsoring events. I encouraged my two sisters (who are older than I to become members and they seem happy now.) Even my niece in VA is a Member now. The Lord blessed me by inquiring about the Red Hat Society.

My doctor tells me I look younger and my health is better since joining RHS. Who has time to be sick when we have so many things to do and places to go? RHS is absolutely the best thing I have done for myself.

Jet

What does the Red Hat Society mean to me? The last time I was bored was in March of 2003!

B. N. Charming

I do believe in the fun and friendship that Red Hatting offers. I also feel that, for continuity and community, it is important to support the Red Hat Society through paid memberships.

Jeanette

I found as we "grew up" we "grew boring". This is better than any college sorority. We do not have to meet requirements other than to be ourselves.

Queen Lafie Tafie

The RHS is a place to share, to support, to laugh and cry and then laugh some more until our sides ache and the tears roll down our cheeks!

Margalit

I'll tell you...after 25 years of happy marriage and 3 children, I'm ready for ME TIME now. So...when I heard about the RHS, I just had to jump a board!!

Courage is what the RHS means to me. To have the courage to stretch my comfort zone, to leave guilt behind and to indulge myself not because I deserve it but because it's healthy.

I joined because I had lost my husband. I have the nicest ladies in my chapter and I would not have known them if it hadn't been for RHS. Thank you, thank you, and thank you.

I renewed my membership less than a week ago, and today received a fat envelope of neat things. I love the queen pin, the stickers & lil' note pad and the key ring....and of course, the info and our charter renewal. I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU. Now no one can complain they "don't get anything for their membership". :) I love it all and your prompt service was excellent. Kudos to all of you who work so hard to keep this Society going. I appreciate it.

What a wonderful tribute to the spirit of friendship that the Red Hatters represent. I will always be grateful for the privilege of performing on stage in Las Vegas for many of you a few years ago. Looking out into the audience and seeing the vision of a sea of red hats cheering me on is a sweet memory that I will cherish forever. Congratulations on this great honor. Perhaps the world would be a better place if we ALL wore a red hat!

Louise

Our lives are so blessed by being members in a social group, Red Hat Society, that is loaded with women who are mature, self assured, compassionate, generous to a fault sometimes, they love creating life altering laughter all the time, sharing their loves, hates, accomplishments, memories, futures and most of all their faith in a higher being, who has gifted us all with great friends forever. So much depends on you ladies and how you use it or as they say you lose it! It is a miracle that I get so much out of $20 a year. Who knew!

Queen Runaround Sue

Oh my goodness - what a fully packed issue - again !!! How fortunate we are to be members of such a great Society and from a personal aspect - thank you so very very much for featuring the Mall Crawl and Proclamation stories. It is just so gratifying to see one's efforts recognized and to think we had so much fun doing them - that is the awesome part of it. Thank you all again for making all our members feel so 'Special'.

Yesterday, a friend asked me why I am always so cheerful. A few years ago, I was miserable. I was lonely, isolated and seriously, dangerously depressed. So why am I now so happy? The answer to that is a simple one: Red Hatting! Now, when I get up in the morning, I have something to look forward to. I have hats to make, bling to find, clothes to sew and friends with whom to share my life. Is it any wonder that I am always happy? I wish everyone could share my happiness.

Louise

The "We Are Women" video was lovley and I did pass it on to share. I have a suggestion. Towards the very end of the video it looks something like a heart and has writing that's interspersed. That would make a gorgeous pin. Could you duplicate the design? For whatever reason, I cannot seem to reopen the video. I was going to try to be more specific about the "pin" I was referring to. I also love the new pin that comes w/ our renewal.

Joanne

I would like to thank you for the beautiful new Queen pin. I will wear it with pride.

This is a special request to Debra, the beautifully crafted calligraphy Heart in the video "We are Women". This heart could be a beautiful silver or gold pendant, etched with those flowing words - I'm sure Every Red Hatter would be eager to own one!!! Please consider this request to create a pendant - I would be honored to wear it with Pride!

Angelflower

When I first joined the RHS, it never occurred to me then that I would soon be meeting and making LIFETIME friends with women all over the country.

Mema

The RHS is a place where I can just be me and know that my fellow Red Hatters will accept me for who I am. I don't have to worry that I am too fat, or too old, or too anything or not enough of something!

Margalit

500 ladies on a train hoot! That was my first experience with the RHS. I dove in and have not yet come up for air.

Diamond Lil

The chance to have the sisters I never had! A fun and silliness corner in your already overstressed life. New friends every day and adventures to plan. Great conversations and camaraderie that's it in a nutshell!!

Queen Raggedy

The Red Hat Society has opened a new world for me. I had never heard of it, but one day on a Health Board, someone mention RHS. The day that I started my chapter...not knowing what I was doing, I walked through a door to a new kind of happiness that I had never known before!! I didn't go anywhere today..just here at the lake with my Hubby, but I have on my red and purple! Wearing our colors just makes me feel good!!!! Many days ..even if it is a trip to the grocery store, I will dress in regalia...and lots of people notice!! I get a chance to talk to strangers about the Red Hat Society and encourage them to join the FUN!!!!

In the beginning (in 2002), it meant something nice I could do for my Mother. Now I have friends, so dear to me, that I would never have met outside of Red Hatting. I am younger at 59 than I was at 49 and having a lot more fun too!

One of the most fun things is be out in public laughing and talking and getting asked who we are and how they can join in the fun!

I've never led anything before, but I seem to have been born to Queendom. It's also given me more confidence and taken me places I wouldn't have gone by myself. And it's given me friends all over the globe.
